JAPAN - Detox Footpads by MudokuTM are allegedly supposed to absorb toxins, heavy metals, metabolic waste and impurities while you sleep. The packaging claims it aids in natural cleansing. A little research showed that it from Japan, however, the box itself states it was made in China. I did try to locate information about the brand or company of MudokuTM, but was unable to find anything about them in Google, which was strange to say the least.
Nevertheless, I bought a box of Mudoku Detox Foot Pads from the Dollar Tree that consisted of 4 pads for just a one dollar. I just wanted to try it and see what it would do but wasn't going to pay anymore than $1.08 (tax included) for it. First off, I don't know what the ingredients are but it absolutely stinks! Despite the stinky smell of the ingredients, I went ahead and put the pads on before I went to bed and 8 hours later, I woke up, took them off and noticed the pads were a dark brown. I was skeptical. I was thinking that whatever they put in the pad could have caused the color once moisture occurs.
Detox Footpads Results Caused by Moisture
So to test that assumption, I took another pack of "powder patch" (box came with four packs of powder patch and four plaster sheets). I sprinkled just a little bit of water on it and the color started to come through. Believe it or not, it started to look like the after picture shown on the box. It was a lighter brown. I pressed on it for about 10 seconds and the color became darker. I've concluded based on this test that the longer it stays pressed up against your foot or whichever place on your skin you put this pad, the darker it will be when you finally take it off. It gets darker due to moisture. The moisture is kind of like when you take off a band-aid, you'll notice how your skin is wet and sometimes wrinkly depending on how long the band-aid has been on. It's the same moisture effect that you'll get with the Moduku detox footpads.
Color of Detox Pad Ingredients
Furthermore, my curiosity extended a bit. I wanted to know the color of the powder. So, I opened up the powder patch itself to see what color the ingredients were and you guessed it -- it's a shade of brown. We can all only wonder what the pad would REALLY look like if the original powder had no color.
What the Detox Footpads Did for Me
I can't say that it did anything for me but disturb my sleep due to the stinky smell. I mean they could have at least scented the the powder with something more pleasant like lavender or something. Or better yet, found a way to have it scentless. But the powder is just originally stinky. Once you take it out of the box you'll see exactly what I mean. I had to wash my hands a few times to remove the smell from my hands and then I used hand sanitizer, too. That was just from touching the pack and not the actual ingredients. This was before using it. It's just one of those products that naturally smell bad, in my honest opinion.
Did the pad remove toxins from my body? Well, how in the world would I be able to tell if it did? There isn't a way for me or anyone to prove that because the powder is brown and darkens when moisture or water is applied. You would have to first have some machine to be able measure your level of bodily toxins and what color those toxins are and how they look when they leave your body and then compare that to the results of the detox footpads. But you can't really test that with the pad because the color of the ingredients shows through immediately when moisture or water is applied. Technically, with this being a product of color ingredients that "bleed" due to moisture or water, you'll never really know if this is removing anything from your body. And since we'll never know, there would be no reason to buy this product for the sole purpose of removing bodily toxins; because you can't tell if it did or not. They should have made the ingredients without color so we all can tell if it really works to remove toxins from the body. But maybe they didn't because it doesn't really remove bodily toxins and they just wanted to put that in there just to get people's money. You know like a scam. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people set up scams/cons all for the purpose of money.
Does Mudoku Detox Foot Pads Eliminate Aches or Pains
I am not sure if the pads work on eliminating aches of any kind. It claims to. I put the pads on my foot and I don't have aches on my foot. So, what I will do is put a new patch (the last one I have not used yet of the four included in the box) on my hand since I have aches there and will let you know if in 8 to 10 hours the ache is gone. I will test it when I sleep tonight. I'm kind of hesitant because man that smell is just really bad and for me to have to put it on my hand just to test this out on aches, is not exactly encouraging.
Logical Reason to Buy Detox FootPads
If you're going to buy this, then it would only makes sense to buy them to see if it aids in eliminating pain.
Why? Because you are more likely able to prove whether or not it works to remove aches versus the removal of bodily toxins. How? Well, if you apply the patch to an area of your body that you are experiencing an ache or pain and 8-10 hours later you remove the patch and your pain is gone, then you can conclude that it more than likely had something to do with the Mudoku detox pad.
The detox footpads, as shown on the box, can be applied anywhere on the body - hand, elbow, shoulder, arm, leg, stomach and so on.

My wife and I tried these pads and i did not feel much of a difference...but my wife said her pain in her feet were gone. I don't know if it does remove toxins either, but it may work more as a placebo effect maybe...for a buck it isn't too bad to do it every once in a while but not on a daily basis.
WHEN I TRIED TO KNEEL OR PUT ANY PRESSURE ON MY KNEE I WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN. I COULD NOT KNEEL. MY HUSBAND HAD THE SAME THING AND HAD A SHOT OF CORTISONE IN HIS KNEE. IT HELPED A LOT BUT DID NOT NTOTALLY TAKE THE PAIN AWAY. I TRIED A MUDUKO PAD ON THE KNEE, NOT THE FOOT. IF MY KNEE WAS AT 0 WHEN I WENT TO BED AND TOTAL HEALING WAS AT 10, THEN I WOKE UP AT LEVE 8 OR 9. THE ONLY PAIN LEFT WAS LIKE AN OLD BRUISE, HARDLY MENTIONABLE. ONE MORE TREATMENT AND IT WAS GONE. MY HUSBAND TRIED ONE AND HIS RESIDUAL PAIN WAS GONE OVER NIGHT. I STARTED TO USE THEM ON MY ANKLE JOINTS WHICH GET REALLY SORE IF I EAT WHEAT OR MALTODEXTRIN. THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT! I GIVE THESE TO FRIENDS ALL THE TIME FOR THEIR ACHES. ONE HAD A KNEE REPLACES A LONG TIME AGO AND HE LOVES THEM! HIS PAIN HAS DISAPPEARED ALSO.
They worked for my sore leg when I put it on my foot. I have a pinched nerve. Dollar General don't sell them any more. I wonder where I can buy them???
Detox pads have always worked great for me. I sometimes workout for up to 4 hours at a time. And my body doesn't like me after. When I don't use them, my body is mad for days. If I put them on my knees while I sleep I feel great the next day. Better than before I worked out.
I couple times I've had annoying back aches as well which went away after using detox pads on my back.
I also used to suffer from...excess... muchus when I woke up. Putting detox pads on my neck (and securing with a headband or something) allowed me to be able to breath when I woke up. (I haven't had that problem in years though).
As I understand it, when the wood vinegar in the pad reacts with moisture, it produces Infra-Red radiation which increases your bloodflow. The extra bloodflow allows your body to do what it is suppose to do in healing you. (The extra bloodflow was noticable when I put one on my neck and two on my feet before going to sleep sometimes)
This is for t genious that put water on the pads instead of trying them for a few days. If you use them for at least 3 days straight you will notice that the decoloration is less each day. I used them for 4 days straight and I'm good for a while no foot or back pain so I stay by it. Is worth it fo a dollar
@George, "If you use them for at least 3 days straight you will notice that the decoloration is less each day."
So I guess you would agree with this statement I just thought of to go along with your "philosopy" of things that are intended to collect dirt:
"If you use a duster to dust your house for 3 days straight you will notice that the decoloration is less each day."
Sorry but anything that was intended to collect dirt is only going to get dirtier and no decoloration process is every going to occur until you personally clean it. You do know that right? So your statement about the pads losing color is just inaccurate and doesn't even go in line with how they even advertise the product. Something must be wrong with your pads.
And I did the water trick like the author and notice the same thing on how it got darker just off of water. If you did the water experiment, George, then you will notice that the author made a clear and valid point.
I used the pads one night to give them a try. Not only did my turn dark, but there was a bunch of yellow, pus like stuff on the pad. I assume these are toxins as I know who specializes in removing toxins from the body and she indeed thought that was toxic residue.
@Chel
I don't know why you would call George a liar for saying that using the pads for a few days lessens the toxins that come out. That is the point of the pads and how they are supposed to be used. You don't use the same pad, of course. (rolling eyes) You put a new pad on each night, and as it cleans you out, there is less of the dark color.
Everyone I know who has used these pads has had that same response. Ugly, dark sludge at first, and after daily use, less and less until it is barely a small tan colored spot. The pains go away, and for me, walking is easier. The smell is more like barbecue cooking -- not as bad as the author makes it out to be.
Use them as you are supposed to for a week or so, then pick it up again a month later, and you will notice a big difference.
where in texas i can find them.. i went to dollar tree and dollar general and i couldnt find them ... someone??
I'm trying to find out what is in the pads. After applying on my feet with no results, I put my last pad on my leg where I have a tumor and it shrunk the tumor to 1/2 it's size. I want to find more and repeat these tests. It was a box of 4 muduko pads from dollar tree which they no longer sell.
I used these for 3 days, the pad turned dark and I immediately got a better looking girlfriendand I won the Powerball!
This is NO barbeque! These pads absolutely stink!! I don't know how you folks were able to stand it any closer to your nose than applying to feet! More power to you! If it helps with your pain, I'm excited and happy for you! I found black sludge. Was only a dollar store experiment for me.
Smell is disturbing but I don't care as I can see results just after using them twice. Will continue, will see if after using them for week my face will have less those terrible acnes.
These pads are great! I used two on my feet and the next morning I sprang to my feet! I was 25 and I have always drug out of bed. My body felt rejuvenated from head to toe! Now I'm looking for them and can't find them. I first purchased them in Roses ... help

I suffer from pain 24/7 in my feet. I am lucky to get one to two hours of sleep a night. After I started using the Muduko foot pads, I can get five or six hours of sleep. Yes, the pads turn a blackish/gray....and it is solid if I leave them on 11 hours. Hopefully I can continue to find a source that is not too expensive. Am on disability.
